Spent the morning trying to figure out what’s wrong with the computer. Ran various scans with Windows Defender – nothing found. Downloaded and ran scans with Malwarebytes –nothing found. Talked to Chris at AutoTek in Hudson. He said he didn’t think it was a router but to try talking to Verizon anyway. I called up Verizon. Found nothing. For now, turned off Wi-Fi on the laptop and shut it down. Maureen took the laptop into AutoTek and he was able to fix it. Yay! He said it was a malicious BHO (Browser Helper Object) but it was weird as it kicked in even when I hadn’t opened a browser, and didn’t kick in if I turned of the WiFi.
Later in the day Jean Butler from the Garden Club and we talked for about an hour.
This will probably be my last blog post for a couple of days. Ttomorrow I go into MGH for my first surgery.
